Psalm

of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
III
John 1:4 I have no greater joy
than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Galatians
4:19 My little children, of whom
I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you...
Proverbs
22:5 Train up a child in the way
he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart
from it.
What an awesome responsibility parents have! We take that responsibility seriously. The homeschooling families at Bethel Tabernacle have joined together to help and encourage one another in the challenging task of educating our children. That is the whole purpose of our homeschooling group, Character First Home Educators (CFHE). This name was chosen because it reflects the goal we have for our children: Character First! Brother Branham said,
"Naked
(physically) we came into the world, but naked (spiritually)
we will NOT leave it." Oh no, we are going to take something
with us. What that something is, is ALL we can take
with us, nothing less and nothing more. So we had better
be real careful now to see that we take something that
will make us right before God. So, then, what will we
take with us? We will take our CHARACTER, brother, that
is what we will take with us. Now what kind of character
will you take with you?”
Over 80% of the families with school-aged children at Bethel have chosen to homeschool. That translates to almost 40 homeschooled children. CFHE holds monthly support meetings throughout the school year where we discuss homeschooling topics, solicit help from one another with homeschooling questions, and plan great activities for our children.
CFHE also sponsors a co-op: two terms per school year with bi-weekly classes for all ages. Many mothers and even some of the fathers have generously shared their talents with our group by teaching classes such as art, history, composition, speech, music, drama, science, math, health, and phys-ed. This has been one of the greatest blessings for children and parents alike as it affords that time of fellowship with Believers of like precious faith along with providing wonderful supplemental material for our children's education.
Our annual Promotion/ Awards Night has proven to be an inspiring way to wrap up our school year. We present our students with Certificates of Promotion and special awards and give them an opportunity to share their special talents and accomplishments. In the near future, CFHE will open our new homeschool library. We currently have dozens of books and resources which are made available to all our members, and we plan to acquire many more.
Homeschooling in this junction of time takes much prayer and balance. In the words of our prophet,
“We put more time on educating
our children, to--to algebra and biology, than we have
to the Bible and Jesus Christ. There ain't a kid in
this country can't tell you who David Crockett is. There
isn't a third of them can tell you Who Jesus Christ
is.”
It is our sincere desire to raise a generation that seek Him, that seek His Face.
In His Service,
Brother Jerry & Sister Dana
